It’s free. Download it and burn it onto cd or request a free cd.

Live CD lets you boot up Ubuntu without installing it. You can test it out and play around with it. (It does take a while to load from the cd)

You can install Windows and Ubuntu on separate partitions and dual boot between the two.

Desktop Effects. Transparent Windows. Multiple Desktops

OpenOffice is included by default and features a word processor, spreadsheet, database and presentation programs.

It just works. I didn’t have to configure network settings. I was just able to connect to the internet. Ubuntu knew where to download Nvidia graphics drivers. I didn’t have to find a driver’s cd or download the latest driver and install them. Printing for the first time was easy because Ubuntu recognized my printer right away.

Ubuntu is much less vulnerable to viruses. | It’s also more secure.

It works on PC and Mac. (Link includes minimum and recommended system requirements)
